Birria Tepechi is a family-owned and operated restaurant in West Long Beach, carrying on four generations of birria tradition. The Castañeda family’s birria tradition in Mexico predates Tepechi, with the family preparing and selling birria in Tepechitlán, Zacatecas, since 1961. Owned and managed by Rigoberto, Berta Alicia, and Benjamin Samuel Castañeda, the restaurant specializes in traditional Jalisco-style birria, prepared by this Zacatecan family and slow-cooked in their house adobo made with guajillo and California peppers and spices. Alongside its signature birria in different preparations, Birria Tepechi offers authentic Mexican dishes that reflect the family’s culinary heritage and dedication to tradition.
